South Celebrates Homecoming “HOCO” 2022

South's 2022 Homecoming festivities begin Oct. 10 with the traditional "Junk the Jungle" and continue all week leading up to the Jags football game against Louisiana-Monroe Oct. 15 at Hancock Whitney Stadium.

The èAPP invites students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors and the community for the annual celebration of Jaguar pride and spirit to be held on campus the week of Oct. 10-15. More celebration information will be shared on the Homecoming 2022 website.  The 2022 èAPP Alumni Reunion Weekend events and activities will be held Oct. 13-15.

This year’s many homecoming activities will include the bonfire and pep rally, walking parade, and the big concert at the èAPP Mitchell Center.

“We are excited to have our South Alabama family and the community come together to celebrate homecoming on our beautiful campus,” said James Contratto, èAPP’s homecoming committee chair. “This year, we are looking forward to celebrating with that amazing Jaguar pride and spirit.”

The week’s 2022 èAPP Homecoming highlights include the following events and activities:

Activities begin Monday, Oct. 10, with the traditional “Junk the Jungle,” for South Students only, which officially kicks off homecoming festivities from 6 - 7 p.m. at the èAPP Traffic Circle. Students are encouraged to toss tissue in the “Jungle.” On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the “Battle of the DJs” event will be held at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. On Wednesday, Oct. 12 is #JagWEARWednesday! And, also on that day, Jaguar Productions invites everyone to “Fun Fest” to be held from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Student Center.  There will be free food, games, inflatables, and much more for all to enjoy. On Thursday, Oct 13, the Homecoming Concert 2022 will feature Flo Milli to be held at 7 p.m. at the Mitchell Center.

Friday, Oct. 14 the bonfire and pep rally will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the annual National Pan-Hellenic Step Show at 8 p.m. at the Mitchell Center. The general public tickets will be available online through the èAPP Mitchell Center. Come watch the NPHC Greeks Battle it out on the stage for a grand prize.

Homecoming Day 2022 is Saturday, Oct. 15, the Prowl, which includes the parade to be held two hours and 20 minutes before the game.

On the same day the èAPP Jaguars will battle the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Hancock Whitney Stadium and will be televised on the NFL Network.
